While much of 'Absolution' may seem a far cry from the gospel songs Thomas sang with his parents every Sunday for nursing home residents in his small hometown of Pekin, Illinois, the seeds planted during those childhood visits sprouted deep roots. Long before he discovered and began emulating powerhouse vocalists like Journey's Steve Perry or Queensryche's Geoff Tate, a much-younger Tommy Edwards was digesting the wordplay and delivery of Country icons like Johnny Cash and Hank Williams. It's this contrast in influences that inspired the broad scope of material comprising his full-length debut, due in June of 2016.

Assembled over a two-year span, with Nashville songwriter/musician Denny Smith(The Great Affairs), and a host of guest players including the late Gary Richrath(REO Speedwagon), these 11 songs touch on multiple genres with equal finesse, a skill Thomas has honed in his time fronting the premier cover band in Central Illinois, Bubblegum Jack. Self-described as "Keith Urban meets The Killers", 'Absolution' brings an entertainer's mindset, and that desire to make a connection with the audience to the fore, disregarding vocal histrionics in favor of focusing on the organic tie between the lyrics and the story behind them.
